With the Honorable Kushab Dhondup guidance, Tashi Pendey is
blessed to have such immeasurable knowledge in the ancient art
of sand mandala.
Mandala, a Sanskrit word for "circle,” is a sacred
diagram for the passing on of ancient knowledge in Buddhist
text. The creation of sand mandala symbolizes the transience
of life and the ideal of non-attachment to the material world.
The meditative processes of sand mandala share the symbolisms
of ancient teachings and allow participators to allude new meanings.
All in all, this collaborative art embraces the unity of creations
shared by those whom participate.
Tashi Pendey is proud to present the Honorable
Kushab Dhondup; under his service and guidance, this creative
experience of sand art is truly a profound enjoyment. From seasonable
sand mandala classes to sand mandala projects at our annual
cultural events, we are excited to share this ancient art form
with the citizens of Maui and visitors from abroad.
Please contact the Tashi Pendey Foundation at (808) 242-8704
or Monty Carpenter at (808) 669-3000 for more information.
